The US Open Final will be played on September 10th @ 4pm et.The world of tennis could be a very different place after today’s US Open final. Andy Murray will face off with Novak Djokovic at 4pm eastern time. Murray looks to finish the tennis season with his first Grand Slam title, Djokovic looks to repeat as US Open Champion.

Both players struggled with poor weather conditions in their semifinal matches. “It was brutal to play in that wind. The ball was sometimes stopping, moving the other way, and it was hard to serve,” Murray said after his 5-7, 6-2, 6-1, 7-6 victory. His opponent, Tomas Berdych felt, “The wind blew it away from me,” as he described the gusty conditions and his defeat. Berdych entered the match on a hot streak after beating Roger Federer the previous round, but his high ball-toss became a handicap as he combated the unpredictable weather with 64 unforced errors against the consistent Murray.

Djokavic had no less trouble during his semifinal against Spain’s David Ferrer. Ferrer broke Djokavic on his first service game of the match, but after rain delayed Saturday afternoon’s play until Sunday, Djokavic made a quick recovery by winning the next set 6-1, then cruising to a 2-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2 win.

The world’s number four, Andy Murray will look to continue his winning ways this year, capping an Olympic Gold with his first Grand Slam title. But defending champion and world number three Novak Djokovic is playing with a 35-4 US Open record backing his last six years of play at the American grand slam. “I love the energy here,” Djokavic said, “I think I speak for all the players when I say we love playing here.” The championship match will be streamed live online at USOpen.org.
