Forehand Groundstroke - Open Stance

  • Hips squared to net
  • Feet shoulders width apart
  • Knees bent
  • Weight starts out on right leg, toe pointing towards the sideline
  • During racquet take back, hips and shoulders pivot to square up with right sideline keeping the left foot in place
  •  Left arm is used as a guide hand on the right side of the body
  • Racquet head drops below the waist
  • As racquet swing begins, shoulders and hips rotate from the right side of the body all the way to the follow through over the left shoulder
  • During racquet swing, weight shifts from right leg to left leg
